She’s making her own name in academics, not on the fairway

When your dad is Tiger Woods, the world assumes you’ll have a golf club in your hand before you can walk. And while that’s true for her younger brother, Charlie, Sam Woods has always played by her own rules.

Sports were always a big part of Sam’s life-but not golf. She found her passion on the soccer field, and she just capped off her high school career in the best way possible: leading The Benjamin School to its first-ever Florida state championship. On March 1, Sam, a defensive powerhouse and team captain, helped secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Episcopal School of Jacksonville. It was a perfect ending to her time as an athlete.

From the field to the classroom

But now, she’s stepping into a new chapter-one that has nothing to do with athletics. Sam is heading to Stanford University in the fall, following in her father’s footsteps in name only. While Tiger’s time at Stanford was all about golf, Sam is going for the academics, with interests in psychology and biology.

“She’s going to Stanford in the fall, so everything is really trending,” Tiger confirmed, per Golf Digest. Though the university boasts one of the best golf programs in the country, Sam won’t be part of it. She’s charting her own course-one that involves labs and lectures, not fairways and bunkers.

Her decision makes one thing clear: being a Woods doesn’t mean being a golfer. Sam is proving that the family name isn’t just synonymous with golf greatness-it can stand for excellence in whatever path you choose.

A Different Kind of Bond with Dad

Sam and her dad have always shared a strong connection, but their bond wasn’t built on the game that defined Tiger’s career. In fact, she’s been open about the fact that golf took her dad away a lot when she was younger, creating a bit of a disconnect. But over the years, they’ve found common ground in other ways. Whether she was caddying for him at the PNC Championship or delivering a heartfelt speech at his Hall of Fame induction, she’s always been in his corner.

Unlike Charlie, who is fully embracing the pressure of carrying on the Woods golf legacy, Sam has opted out-and Tiger completely supports it. Instead of pushing her toward the sport, he’s simply proud to see her forge her own way. And as she prepares for life at Stanford, it’s clear she’s doing just that.

“She’s flawless”

While Gabrielle was starstruck by the idea of getting to support the ‘Hello’ star, Adele later fangirled on stage about having Gabrielle supporting her.

“The fact that even when she went on stage she was talking about me, again, you can’t ever take this away from me,” Gabrielle gushed.

She also revealed that the ‘Set Fire to the Rain’ singer was watching her sets from backstage while getting ready to perform later.

“So many great things happened that year, but to be on that stage, to actually have her [watching] my stage in rollers with my sound guys!” the ‘Dreams’ singer reminisced, still in disbelief.

“I thought: ‘This woman is amazing. Just doing her own thing, rocking out and just chilling and singing along.’”

Asked if she’d support Adele again at a concert, Gabrielle sweetly replied she thinks she’d be too nervous to open again for the “flawless” but “down to earth” singer.

“If I ever had to support her again I’d be like: ‘No I can’t, because I’m too scared!’ She was incredible, but I don’t think I can do it twice because she was so amazing!”

Dreams can come true

Gabrielle last toured the UK in 2023 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her fan-favourite track ‘Dreams’.

The song will be turning 33 years old this year, and the singer will still be proudly belting it out every evening for her fans.

“The idea of not adding ‘Dreams’ to my repertoire of songs… If you ever heard of that happening, I think you’d have to question if it really was me!” she told Angie, laughing.

Another much-loved Gabrielle hit is ‘Out of Reach’, the song she composed for the first Bridget Jones film in 2001.

After being cryptically gifted the book by her label’s boss, the artist was delighted to be asked to write a song for the film.

“Instantly I knew what I was going to write about, because the memory, the characters were so fresh in my mind,” Gabrielle recalled.

“I’m happy that [Out of Dreams] forever will be associated with that franchise, because I’m really proud of it and I love the response [it gets].”

“They keep me grounded”

The singer is also forever grateful for the love her fans have shown her over the years.

“As a menopausal middle-aged woman, when there are times I’m looking like: ‘What is happening?’ and you just want to walk away from everything… You’re brought down to earth when you start connecting with your audience,” she shared.

“When they’re speaking to you, when they’re telling you about what your music has meant to them in their lives…

“All of these things keep me grounded, make me emotional, but realise I’m doing the best thing that I love doing, and I have the best response and the most amazing, fabulous audience, and that’s why I’m doing this all again,” Gabrielle gushed.

In this comprehensive article, we will explore Adele’s net worth, career highlights, personal life, and real estate holdings in 2025, and answer some of the most burning questions surrounding the beloved superstar.

The rising star draws battle lines as she doubles down on pay demands and snubs Clark in favor of Wilson.

The rivalry between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark continues to brew beneath the surface, proving that even as teammates in the WNBA, old tensions haven’t disappeared.

Though both players entered the league as part of the highly anticipated 2024 WNBA Draft class, it’s clear that Reese is not ready to hand Clark the title of WNBA’s best player – not by a long shot.

Recently, Reese made headlines after snubbing Caitlin Clark and instead crowning A’ja Wilson as the league’s top talent. It all started when a fan criticized Reese on TikTok, accusing her of demanding higher pay while supposedly “bullying” the WNBA’s best player – a thinly veiled reference to Clark.

The fan’s harsh comment read, “Demanding more money after bullying the WNBA best player out of the league is crazy.” But Reese wasted no time clapping back, responding bluntly: “When did I try to bully A’ja?”

Her sharp comeback made it clear: In Reese‘s eyes, Wilson holds the crown – not Clark. And in doing so, she delivered yet another reminder that her relationship with Clark remains anything but friendly.

Reese’s CBA Threat Adds Fuel to the Fire

Beyond the rivalry, Reese has been outspoken in her fight for better pay and working conditions in the WNBA, especially as the league prepares to renegotiate its Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

With the WNBPA opting out of the current CBA last October, players are pushing for more than just bigger paychecks. They want a larger share of league revenue and improved benefits, reflective of the growing influence and popularity of women’s basketball.

Reese has even suggested that players are ready to strike if their demands aren’t met. Speaking on her “Unapologetically Angel” podcast, Reese said:

“I need to be in the [players’ union] meetings because I’m hearing that if [the league] don’t give us what we want, we’re sitting out,” she said.

While WNBPA executive director Terri Carmichael Jackson hasn’t publicly addressed Reese‘s comments, she has emphasized the union’s focus on securing a “transformational deal” for players.

Still, Reese‘s outspoken role in these discussions has drawn mixed reactions from fans – especially those who see Clark as the league’s true rising star.

After all, Clark‘s record-breaking attendance figures, merchandise sales, and game viewership have significantly boosted the WNBA’s profile, making her the face of the league’s growth.

Many fans argue that if anyone has earned the right to push for higher wages, it’s Clark. And that may be why Reese‘s ongoing jabs at her rival have struck a nerve with the public.

A Rivalry That Won’t Die Down

The tension between Reese and Clark dates back to their NCAA days, when they were constantly pitted against each other as two of the sport’s brightest stars.

The rivalry reached new heights when Reese celebrated a flagrant foul by her teammate Chennedy Carter against Clark – a moment that went viral and sparked even more debate about Reese’s attitude toward her fellow rookie.

Although both women helped usher in historic viewership numbers for the WNBA in 2024, Reese‘s reluctance to share the spotlight with Clark is impossible to ignore.

Unrivaled’s President of Basketball Operations, Luke Cooper, explained to ESPN: “This game is rooted in how you would play basketball as a kid on a blacktop… When you are watching, it feels like you are watching basketball… it’s not a gimmick.”

With a season that has featured non-stop action and now leads into high-stakes playoffs, fans of Angel Reese and women’s basketball won’t want to miss this chance to watch history in the making.

Ryan Garcia is finally making his return to the ring after a long layoff. The reason? A year ago, he tested positive for the PED ostarine. Even though he dropped Devin Haney three times in their April fight, the whole thing got wiped off the record as a no-contest. And just like that, Garcia found himself sidelined for a year by the New York State Athletic Commission. But now? The suspension will be over in April, and he’ll be back in business.

In just two months, he’ll headline His Excellency Turki Alalshikh’s first-ever Ring Magazine USA event at Times Square in New York. He’s set to face former WBA junior welterweight champion Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero in the main event of Fatal Fury, while Devin Haney takes on Jose Ramirez in the co-main event. Moreover, Teofimo Lopez will also defend his WBO and Ring junior welterweight belts against Arnold Barboza Jr.

Now, here’s where things get spicy. With the fight night less than two months away, both Garcia and Haney were recently in New York to promote the event. It all started when the host of the press conference asked Haney’s opponent if he thinks The Dream has a good enough chin after suffering three knockdowns against Ryan Garcia. Jose Ramirez replied that he plans to test Haney’s chin. “Of course, I’m gonna test his chin. It’s my job,” Ramirez responded. This set Haney off, and he shot back immediately. His response to the apparent disrespect is what prompted Claressa Shields to chime in with her take.

Earlier today, she took to her X and said, “Facts,” resharing a post by the Ring Magazine. The post from the Ring Magazine read, “Devin Haney dismisses suggestions he could be ‘chinny’ and takes a jab at Ryan Garcia”. It shared what the 26-year-old responded during the Fatal Fury Press Conference in New York. Fumed by the insinuations, he had fired back: “I don’t understand what you mean by chin. I got up every single time against someone who was on PEDs. So I showed I got a chin.” But that wasn’t all.

Funny enough, despite being free to fight, The Dream has also stayed away from the ring since their April showdown. Instead, he’s been biding his time, waiting for the right opponent and the perfect moment to make his return. Originally, he had his sights set on a March comeback, but fate had other plans. Now, with a shot at taking down the 32-year-old Ramirez, the 26-year-old is feeling confident. However, despite their animosity, other than the above statement, the two long-time rivals, Garcia and Haney, surprisingly kept it very civil during the press conference. The reason?

Ryan Garcia is trying to stay clear of legal issues

A few hours before the press conference, Ryan Garcia sat down with The Ring. Naturally, the conversation turned to him and Devin Haney sharing the same card on May 2 in Times Square. The reporter pointed out how both fighters have kept it “classy” during the recent press events, despite their long-standing beef. “He is suing me,” the Victorville native stated as the reason for him not indulging Haney in any trash-talk. The 26-year-old even joked, “Everything I’ve said is now used against me.” At one point, he called Haney a “bi**h”, then laughed it off like, “maybe he’ll sue me for saying that. Who knows, he might use that in the deposition.”

The way Ryan Garcia sees it, Devin Haney’s more focused on legal paperwork than throwing punches. And honestly? Ryan Garcia is over the trash talk. If Haney beats Jose Ramirez and Garcia takes down Rolly Romero, we’re looking at a rematch that fans have been dying to see since their first bout in April last year. But this time, no more words—just fists flying. “I don’t have to say anything more. I already proved it. I already beat his a**,” Ryan Garcia declared defiantly. It seems this cold war will continue for a while, at least until the two manage to do away with their current opponents come fight night in May.

So, what do you think? Who wins the rematch?

Jake Paul has promised that for her upcoming July 11 trilogy fight against Katie TaylorAmanda Serrano will become “the highest-paid woman in sports history for a single event.” The previous record, according to Paul, was held by former UFC and WWE star Ronda Rousey, who got paid just south of $5 million to face Amanda Nunes back in 2016.

Paul’s ‘Most Valuable Promotions’, of course, represents Serrano, who has signed a lifetime deal with them. And while this trilogy card, which would be an all-female card, would be a big achievement not just for Serrano but for female boxing in general, the GWOAT, Claressa Shields, has some harsh words for her Puerto Rican counterpart.

“I only talk to undefeated fighters! If you’re not undefeated, please don’t talk to me! I’m bout to call Mayweather 🏆👸🏾👑,” Claressa Shields wrote on X. To this, a fan claimed that MMA superstar and her long-time rival, Cris Cyborg, had called Serrano the GWOAT. “You see cyborg calling serrano the gwoat? You gotta step down and get at her,” the fan wrote. We cannot find this quote attributed to Cyborg, but ‘T-Rex’ remained undeterred and laughed off the prospect of Serrano being the GWOAT. “She not undefeated either 😂😂,” Shields added.

Shields, of course, is undefeated and has a pro boxing record of 16-0, while Serrano is 47-3 in her career so far, with two of those losses coming to Taylor. But on the other hand, Shields is dealing with her own issues.

Claressa Shields was compelled to relinquish one of her titles. She had to choose which of her WBO crowns to hold on to. The American boxer has opted to vacate her light heavyweight title while holding on to her heavyweight crown.

“Regarding the WBO Female Light Heavyweight Division, be advised Claressa Shields has relinquished her WBO Light heavyweight title,” Gustavo Olivieri, President of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), posted on social media. “Per our rules, No WBO Champion may hold titles in two different weight divisions simultaneously. Therefore, Shields remains the champion in the heavyweight division,” read the post.

The 29-year-old won by unanimous decision, dominating fellow American Danielle Perkins and knocking her down with a powerful right hand with seconds left in the 10th and final round. Claressa out-pointed Danielle Perkins early last month to claim all the belts in the highest category.

Shields has also been undisputed world champion at middleweight and light-middleweight.

“It feels unbelievable,” said Shields, who improved her record to 16-0, via Reuters.

“I had a really hard training camp. And just last Friday I tore my labrum in my left shoulder, so I wasn’t able to use my good jab today.”

Besides, she became the first female boxer to attain undisputed status in three weight divisions. It was truly a notable accomplishment as the “GWOAT” dominated her opponent in front of a packed home fan-base at the Dort Financial Centre in Flint, Michigan. However, these accolades may not hold if the claims of failed drug test are substantiated

Shields won the vacant WBO heavyweight title — and a couple of other vacant belts to become the undisputed heavyweight champion — on Feb, 2 with her unanimous decision over Danielle Perkins.

“But I didn’t want to call the fight off because I had asked God to give me a big fight in my hometown. He did that. So, I decided to keep going through with it.

“I feel so happy. And shout out to my opponent, Danielle Perkins. Man, that girl was strong as hell,” said Shields after the fight

The 29-year-old native of Flint, Mich., moved to 16-0 (3 KOs), and added to a career that has also included becoming undisputed twice at middleweight and once at junior middleweight, plus winning titles at 168lbs and 175lbs.

Elsewhere, Shields tested positive for marijuana from a mouth swab test. However, Shields and her team are adamant she was the victim of secondhand smoke in the arena.

Michigan’s athletic commission says Shields tested positive for marijuana after the Perkins fight. Though, Shields says she has never used marijuana — which is not a performance-enhancing drug — and suggested her positive test may have come from secondhand smoke in the arena or contact with other people on fight night. She has appealed her suspension, and the head of the Association of Boxing Commissions has criticized the Michigan commission.

“On February 13, 2025, the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, on behalf of the Unarmed Combat Commission, notified the WBC that an oral fluid sample collected from WBC World Champion Claressa Shields tested positive for the presence of marijuana [THC]. The Michigan Commission had collected a sample from Champion Shield after her February 2, 2025, title defence against Daniella Perkins,” noted a statement.

The trading card industry has long been a competitive space, with athletes from various sports vying for top spots in sales.

However, the latest WNBA trading card release has shifted the balance, with Caitlin Clark leading the charge in a market that’s seeing remarkable growth.

Catilin Clark dominates trading card industry

Thank you for watching

Panini’s February launch of the 2024 Prizm WNBA set has broken records, with prices soaring to new heights and Clark’s cards at the center of this surge.

Clark, a standout rookie for the Indiana Fever and the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, has captured the attention of collectors worldwide.

Her trading cards have outsold the combined total of the next nine athletes on the list, a remarkable feat that highlights her prominence in the market.

As of now, Clark’s cards have sold over 2,100 copies, nearly doubling the sales of second-place Cameron Brink and third-place Angel Reese.

Despite Reese’s own success in the market, including a high-profile sale of her Gold Vinyl 1/1 card for $100,000, Clark’s value remains unmatched.

Her record-breaking Panini Select WNBA Gold Vinyl autograph rookie card fetched an astounding $234,850 at auction in December, setting a new bar for women’s sports collectibles.

This far outpaces the value of Reese’s cards, and even as Reese’s rookie card gained attention, Clark’s continued dominance is clear.

Beyond the trading card market, Clark’s popularity is also evident in her sponsorships.

She has signed multi-million-dollar endorsement deals with Nike, Gatorade, and other major brands, and her jersey sales have outpaced entire NFL teams.

In fact, Clark sold more Fever jerseys in one day than the Dallas Cowboys sold in an entire year.

As the WNBA continues to grow, Caitlin Clark’s presence in the trading card world is undeniable.

With her cards continuing to set records and her market value skyrocketing, it’s clear that she is not just a player in the league, she’s reshaping the landscape of women’s sports memorabilia.

While Angel Reese and others continue to make their mark, the spotlight remains firmly on Clark, who is poised to lead the way for years to come

Moments like this between WNBA rivals don’t happen every day

Angel Reese and DiJonai Carrington have built their reputations as fierce competitors. Whether it’s in the WNBA where Reese represents the Chicago Sky and Carrington suits up for the Dallas Wings or in the Unrivaled league during the offseason, where each has demonstrated their skills on the court, but now, they have shared a hilarious moment off the court.

That’s why fans were caught off guard when a new video surfaced showing them in a completely different light. No trash talk, no defense, no high-stakes plays, just Reese and Carrington sharing a moment that no one expected. It wasn’t on the court. It wasn’t at practice. It wasn’t even basketball-related.

Thank you for watching

In the video, the two are seen getting ready together, playfully applying makeup and laughing as they experiment with their looks. At first, they draw playful shapes on their faces, sketching lines above their eyebrows before blending it all in for a flawless finish. The setting is casual, intimate, both athletes appearing natural, their hair loosely tied back, fully in the moment.

It’s not every day that WNBA rivals show this kind of camaraderie, especially when they’re also competing against each other in Unrivaled, the high-profile offseason league designed to highlight the league’s biggest stars. The tournament, created to give WNBA players a competitive and financially rewarding alternative during the season break, has featured intense matchups including some fiery battles between Reese’s Rose BC squad and Carrington’s Mist BS team.

Yet, despite their on-court clashes, this video proves that competition doesn’t have to mean animosity. Reese and Carrington’s playful exchange reminds fans that, beyond the rivalry, there’s mutual respect, fun, and moments of pure authenticity.
