Claressa Shields, one of the most decorated boxers ever, takes on top-ranked contender Danielle Perkins Sunday night for a chance to win another undisputed world title.
Shields fights Perkins at the Dort Financial Center in Flint, her hometown, on Sunday night for the undisputed women’s heavyweight championship. Shields (15-0, 3 KOs), already a champion of five different weight classes, is looking to become the first boxer to win undisputed titles at three different weight classes. Perkins (5-0, 2 KOs) will have to take down Shields on her home turf to win her first championship.
Shields-Perkins headlines a night of 10 fights in the “Vehicle City” featuring four women’s fights. The co-main event is a men’s heavyweight duel between Brandon Moore and Skylar Lacy for the vacant USBA heavyweight title. Five other boxers from Michigan — Jaquan McElroy, Joseph Jerome Starks, Leon Lawson III, Joseph Hicks and Joshua James Pagan — will also fight on the card.
Fights started at 5:30 p.m. and the main event streaming begins at 7:30 p.m. exclusively on DAZN.

Joshua James Pagan beats Ronal Ron by unanimous decision
Ron and Pagan were not interested in protecting themselves. Both willingly took on shots from the other to open up windows to wind up, resulting in each landing and absorbing big shots. Ron opened Pagan in the second round above his left eye, but kept working to get as close to Ron as possible to try and land tight hooks and uppercuts. His attack was unrelenting over eight rounds, and eventually, he turned it from a back-and-forth affair to one he dictated in the later rounds to win by unanimous decision (79-73, 78-74, 78-74) to remain undefeated. The two kept swinging until the end and spent the last 20 seconds wildly trading hooks to the delight of the relatively full Dort Financial Center crowd.
Caroline Veyre wins WBA intercontinental featherweight title
Veyre started on the front foot and peppered Vargas with pressure. Veyre left Vargas with a visibly swollen left eye and then opened her up and made her bleed with a jab to the nose in the third round. Despite taking control, Veyre couldn’t get a finish, instead comfortably avoiding damage to walk away with a unanimous 80-72 decision in the eight-round fight.
Ashleyann Lozada wins in pro debut
Lozada, “La Maquina”, dominated across the four-round fight against Moran for the first win of her professional career. Lozada danced around Moran and dared her with her guard down, but the Puerto Rican was too fast for Moran and buried her with flurries of counters.
Taylor, Worthington, Lawson III win first three fights
In the first fight, Pryce Taylor knocked out Jerrell Nettles for a second-round finish at heavyweight with a right cross. Samantha Worthington outlasted Vaida Masiokaite in an eight-round unanimous decision at super lightweight (77-75, 78-64, 79-73). Flint’s Leon Lawson III drew the biggest cheer of the early fights with a fourth-round finish against Christopher Thompson for a technical knockout. The referee stopped the fight after Lawson wobbled Thompson early in the fourth round for his second stoppage. The fight between Flint’s Jaquan McElroy and Macomb’s Joseph Jerome Starks, the original first fight, did not happen.
What’s at stake for Claressa Shields-Danielle Perkins
This fight is for the first-ever undisputed women’s heavyweight title in boxing history, and a chance for an American, male or female, to become the undisputed champion at the top weight class since 1992.
Shields is looking to become the first boxer regardless of gender to win undisputed titles in three weight classes — 154, 160 and 175. She became the first boxer to win two undisputed titles after her last fight in Flint at the Dort Financial Center in 2021.
Both fighters have undefeated records. Shields is looking to cement her status as the greatest women’s boxer of all time, while Perkins is looking for her first title as a professional.
