What Fans Are All Saying? – Fans Can’t Ignore This One Detail

The American has surprisingly suggested his fight with Roach could form a part of his final year in boxing, as he is considering retirement in 2025.

It would be a huge blow to the sport and a significant surprise if he chooses to hang up his gloves at the age of just 30, with potential big fights ahead of him.

Nonetheless Davis is preparing in the gym for his upcoming test, and appears to be taking things very seriously.

The American has shown off his current impressive shape, looking close to optimum fighting weight.

He posed for a photo flaunting his sensational physique, and is showing no signs that he has given on the sport yet.

And that is exactly what fans have spotted, suggesting it is a sign that he may well make a U-turn on retirement given he appears in motivated shape.

One reacted: “And you guys think he is going to retire. Clearly very motivated.”

Another wrote: “I thought he wasn’t condition. Thought he wasn’t disciplined.

“Thought he’s always blowing up and weight in between fights. This guy is serious.”

One wrote: “He looks so so good, wow. Roach is in trouble, there’s no way he’s retiring after that.”

A fan even added: “He must fight Loma [Vasyl Lomachenko] and Keyshawn [Davis]. He can’t retire in this shape.”

One final fan was less optimistic and concluded: “Getting in shape to knock out someone who never stood a chance against him in a million years.

“When will @Gervontaa fight a real threat?”

Davis has faced criticism over both his decision to retire and his recent opponents, having failed to spark the imagination since his incredible win over Ryan Garcia in April 2023.

It remains to be seen who he could fight after Roach if he takes another victory.

A raft of opponents have thrown their name in the hat including Shakur Stevenson, with huge demand for the pair to meet.

And when giving an update on the potential of a showdown taking place, Stevenson told talkSPORT.com: “He’s the big superstar.

“He’s the big name, the biggest pay-per-view superstar in the sport of boxing so with him being the biggest name and attraction it’s on him [to make it happen].

“The ball is in his court. I can’t say ‘I’m going to send him an offer’. Turki [Alalshikh] can.

“Turki has got the money, I don’t have the money to send Gervonta Davis a big enough offer.
